“Mr. Young sings (classics) with such an angelic voice and flawless technique that even those who object to the idea of teeny-bopper pop in the shrine of the American songbook would have to give in.” — The Wall Street Journal

“...Has a disciplined one-in-a-million high tenor shading into falsetto that he can direct through the stratosphere.” — The New York Times

About John Lloyd Young

John Lloyd Young is an award-winning artist known for his multifaceted career spanning film and stage, particularly as the original Frankie Valli in the Broadway hit Jersey Boys . Young was hand-picked by director Clint Eastwood to reprise his role in the film adaptation.

His show, John Lloyd Young: Broadway’s Jersey Boy, pays homage to ‘50s and ‘60s classics presented in the authentic acoustic style of original rock ‘n’ roll, doo-wop, and R&B standards in an intimate concert experience with piano accompaniment. It features hits like Sherry and Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, along with tracks from his acclaimed album My Turn.

Young's Broadway debut as Valli earned him unprecedented acclaim, winning him Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theatre World Awards, a feat unmatched by any American actor. He also sang lead vocals on the Platinum Grammy Award-winning Jersey Boys Original Cast Album. Young reprised his role in London's West End.

Described by The New York Times as possessing a “one-in-a-million high tenor,” Young's performances have captivated audiences worldwide, from sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl to prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the White House. He is also involved in philanthropy, serving on the Artists Committee for the Kennedy Center Honors and formerly on Barack Obama’s President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.

Live music shows are presented in the historic Banyan Bowl amphitheater, an acoustically stunning amphitheater under a spectacular geodesic dome.
