Botanical Tours
On select Saturdays, join our horticulture and education team as we lead guided tours throughout The Gardens.
Each tour will focus on a different section or new topic of the Garden, including our history, botanical collections, and ecology. There is always something new to learn. Pre-registration required. Tours are weather permitting. Tours meet at the front entry of the Garden near the ticket booth.

Saturday, September 6: Ponds & Aquatics Tour
- Join us for a tour of the Pinecrest Gardens’ ponds: their geology, history, aquatic life, maintenance cycles, and environmental importance.
Saturday, October 11: Palms of Pinecrest Gardens
- Join us for a tour of the many palm tree species at Pinecrest Gardens. Learn about their needs, the unique horticultural environment, and the principle of “planting the right palm in the right place”.
Saturday, January 17: History and Landscape Tour
- From nudist colony to tourist attraction to public garden and living museum, discover the fascinating story of Pinecrest Gardens.
Saturday, February 7: The Living Museum, A Collections Tour
- Learn about the living collection at Pinecrest Gardens with our collections specialist, Jenn. You’ll leave with an understanding of why and how we catalogue living specimens, and what it means for the future of the Gardens. We will cover our database, tagging, mapping, and get a tour of the specimens that make Pinecrest Gardens unique!
Saturday, March 14: The Dry Gardens
- Join us for a tour of our spectacular dry gardens. Once a Pine Rockland, the mid-gardens were a blueprint for our current dry gardens. Learn about the transition from Rockland to dry garden and gain insights on the benefits and challenges of dry garden design.
RESERVATION: Pre-registration is encouraged. Limited to 15 participants
Registration: Includes access to Gardens and amenities for the day. Pre-registration required.
