PINECREST, FL (January 17, 2024) – Pinecrest Gardens is spicing up the first weekend of March with its 9th annual Chili Cook-Off. This exciting event, presented by Ed Morse Automotive Group, will take place on Saturday, March 2, from noon to 5 p.m. This year, the Chili Cook-Off introduces a special twist – the "Home Cook" challenge, inviting amateur chefs to compete with their best homemade chili recipes for a chance to win a cash prize.

“We are thrilled to introduce the ‘Home Cook’ challenge this year, adding a tasty new dimension to our Chili Cook-Off,” said Cristina Blanco, executive director of Pinecrest Gardens. “It's a fantastic opportunity for local cooking enthusiasts to showcase their talents and for everyone to enjoy a delicious American tradition in our beautiful gardens.”

Alongside the new challenge, the Chili Cook-Off will continue to showcase an array of chili flavors from top cooks affiliated with the International Chili Society (ICS). Attendees can expect a delightful array of tastes, aromas, and culinary surprises.

The day is packed with entertainment, including live country music from The 18 Wheelers, line-dancing with Southside Stampede, a mechanical bull, a classic car display, eating contests and various family-friendly activities. As with previous years, the outdoor event promises to be a vibrant celebration of community, flavor, and fun.
