Girl Scout G.I.R.L. Festival

Join us for the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) festival at Pinecrest Gardens. It’s a day full of activities for Girl Scouts new and old. Community partners will be offering information about their Girl Scout programs, as well as activities, giveaways, demos and more!

Badge Day Scout Programs

Girl Scouts can now complete requirements to earn new badges at Pinecrest Gardens! Select Saturdays throughout the year, Pinecrest Gardens will offer “Badge Days” for Girl Scouts who are working to earn their badges. These programs are designed to accommodate up to 30 scouts on the given date. We are excited to announce that the Outdoor Art Badges and Eco Learner Badges are being offered exclusively at Pinecrest Gardens. Guided programs will last roughly 2 hours, featuring a unique opportunity for scouts to embark on a guided exploration through nature, while learning about art of the natural world. Badge days are $12 per scout which covers full access to the Garden’s amenities including petting zoo, Splash 'N Play, playground, and botanical gardens, a reserved area for pre or post picnic and, the badge itself as well as all program materials.

Junior Outdoor Art Explorer Badge
This program will help juniors understand the important role that art plays in nature, and how it impacts the lives of people. Let nature be your inspiration as you explore, create and design different kinds of art. In this program, we will discover art in the garden, learn about colors and textures, create art outdoors and more!

Brownie Eco Friend Badge Day
Whenever you spend time outdoors, you can take care of the environment! This badge will teach Brownies more about how to treat outdoor spaces with kindness, and teach others how they can, too. In this badge we will take care of wildlife, explore outdoors, practice being an eco-friend, and much more!

Brownie Outdoor Art Badge
Art can be found everywhere, especially outdoors! In this program, we will seek to understand the science behind art and learn why art at Pinecrest Gardens is so important. We will create, learn, explore and understand the beauty of nature.

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon 
Price: $12 per scout (includes cost of badge, activity materials, full access to garden amenities)

Daisy Eco Learner Badge
Earning this badge is as fun as it is informative! Daisies will learn how to keep plants and animals safe, play games, learn about animal homes on a walk through the Garden, and inform others of what it means to be an Eco Learner!

Daisy Outdoor Art Badge
Art can be found everywhere, especially outdoors! In this program we learn what makes nature so beautiful by making our own natural art, reading stories and going on an art adventure in the Garden.

Scouts Overnight Experience 

GS SLEEPOVER 2

Spend the night in the garden!

Join us at Pinecrest Gardens for an evening full of fun, learning and the gardens after dark! We’re inviting the Girl Scouts to spend the evening with us at Pinecrest Gardens as we explore the gardens at night and participate in evening activities. We will learn about the gardens at night with some hands on activities, watch a movie in the banyan bowl after dinner and a flashlight tour of the garden, and then build our beds in a cozy indoor space together.   Registration is required and space is limited. Date: Friday, February 21, 2020
Times: Check in at 6:00 p.m., check out at 8:30 a.m. Program begins at 6:30 p.m. breakfast is served at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Next day entry to the Garden is permitted with registration. Please be sure to bring all materials to your car before re-entering the garden. 
Price: $50 per scout (includes overnight stay at Pinecrest Gardens, dinner, breakfast and a 
snack as well as all materials for activities) 
Ages: appropriate for ages 6-14

Overnight Basics 
What to bring: 
    - Comfortable clothes and shoes 
    - Umbrella or raincoat 
    - Flash Light 
    - Pajamas 
    - Toiletries/ personal items 
    - Tent, Sleeping bag, blankets and pillow 
    - refillable Water bottle

The program ends at 8:30 a.m. the next day, but your ticket is good for a full day of exploration. Please be sure to return all of your “sleepover” materials to your car before entering the garden. We will not hold or store any items for you. 

Cancellations 
Cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the event in order to receive a refund; otherwise, refunds will not be issued. 

Overnight Etiquette 
Staff and chaperones will do all that we can to ensure your child’s safety while at Pinecrest Gardens. For the sake of others, children are expected to be cooperative and respectful. Should behavioral difficulties arise; parents, chaperones, or scout leaders will be notified. If problems continue, we reserve the right to dismiss participants from the program.
